Joint-Work on Filament Detection of Xe Published with UF and UM Authorship!

PhD Candidate Kyle Latty and Undergraduate Research Assistant Thiago Arnaud (Senior Physics, B.S.) have had their paper accepted in the journal Sensors titled “Ultrafast Laser-Excited Optical Emission of Xe under Loose-Focusing Conditions”. The article includes co-authors from University of Michigan (UM) Prof. Igor Jovanovic and Dr. Milos Burger who are Co-PIs on the DTRA IIRM Research Alliance that sponsored this work as well as Leandro Frigerio a graduate student in Prof. Jovanovic’s group at UM. This work is the culmination of a year long joint effort to conduct these measurements at UF using Xe gas and equipment from UM alongside unique experimental capabilities at UF.

Congrats everyone. Go Gators! Go Blue!
